Teaching and learning can happen anywhere and everywhere! 
We had an Outdoor Classroom Day where children took part in mental math's activities using a range of resources outside. Children benefit from this kinesthetic approach to learning and often don't realize they are working hard because they are not in the classroom.  
We have been looking at the features of Instructional Writing this term and followed instructions during Outdoor Classroom Day in order to build a tent correctly. We soon realized the importance of following instructions step by step. Children excelled at this activity and had great fun trying to all fit into the tent after it was put up!
Taking it down and fitting it back into the tent bag was much more of a challenge!
