Thornfield House Special School Pre-Application Community Consultation Event: Plans are in for our school to receive renovations and extensions! Please come to the public consultation event to get a sneak peek at the plans and provide your input.
The Education Authority together with the design team have put together plans for our school to receive renovations and extensions to support the learning of our pupils. The design team is hosting an event for the public to learn about these plans. Please note, this relates to the pre-application phase and a planning application has not yet been submitted at this time.
We would love for you to attend the Pre-Application Consultation Event to see the plans, talk through them with the design team, and let us know what you think.

Date and Time: Wednesday 6th August, 2025 from 3pm – 7pm * An online option is available on the same date from 5pm – 6pm. Please email the design team no later than noon the day prior, to receive the link to join this online meeting. *

All details will be live on this website beginning 6th August 2025, for a period of 28 days which ends on 3rd September 2025. The pre-application community consultation period will commence Wednesday 6th August 2025 and formally conclude Friday 15th August 2025. Please note that this notice does not relate to a submitted planning application, therefore comments should not be made to Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council at this time. Any comments made to the applicant are not representations to the planning authority. Once the planning application is submitted, the Council will undertake neighbour notifications, and you will have the opportunity to make formal representations to the Council regarding the proposal.
